GYM & TRACK
The indoor gym and track at Four Seasons I lend themselves to exercise and play at many levels. With three basketball courts, plus a dedicated basketball area with lower hoops for our younger members, you can perfect your swish, jump shots and lay-ups with the availability of 17 rims. The other two basketball courts plus the full-size competition volleyball court features specialized flooring for excellent shock absorbsion and no-slip grip. Four Seasons has an “open play philosophy.” Basketball or volleyball leagues are not scheduled so that members can have the opportunity to play at their convenience. Basketballs, volleyballs and lap counters are available for use (quantities may be limited). The 1/9 mile banked track that encircles the gym at Four Seasons I is composed of Duraflex flooring which aids in keeping the shock on your joints to a minimum. The track features a walking lane and the movement direction is changed daily to promote equal physiological effect on turns for our more serious indoor walkers and runners. Four Seasons offers members the opportunity for fun, skill improvement and competition for racquetball players of all abilities. We have two air-conditioned hardwood courts that are available for FREE reservations for our members up to two days prior to play time. Please note that you must be a member of Four Seasons Health Club to utilize our racquetball courts.
Four Seasons offers the Shotokan Karate program, meaning “the empty handed way.” The classes include punching, striking, kicking, and blocking without the use of any weapon or instrument. Karate develops coordination, agility, and trains the student to channel mental energy in a positive manner, as well as reduces tension caused by everyday stress! Classes are available to members starting at age 6 with classes for adults as well. Detailed information can be found here. The buoyancy of water reduces the “weight” of a person by about 90%, which means that the stress on weight bearing joints, bones and muscles is similarly reduced. For this reason, water workouts rarely result in injury or leave you with sore muscles. That’s why the pool is such a great place for people with arthritis or back problems to exercise. It is also great for those who are new to exercise. Four Seasons I currently offers 15 water fitness classes per week for our members of all different fitness levels, including Ultimate H2O, Deep H2O, Aqua Combo and Aquabata! Water exercise can encompass all of the components of fitness: cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. When done regularly, water exercise can help reduce body fat. The water fitness classes at Four Seasons I use additional equipment, such as H2O dumbbells, H20 belts, and noodles to increase the resistance for a more intense workout. AFAA Certifications – Four Seasons is a host location for various certifications through the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America. The Physical Training Certification 3 day training course and the Primary Group Exercise Certification are examples of these certifications that have been held at Four Seasons II. All Four Seasons employees and members have a special discounted price.
Spin Workshops – 45-minute class designed for people of all ages and abilities, Spinning® is the original and worldwide leader in indoor cycling programs. The Spinning program and the Spinning bikes are based on real road cycling and cutting-edge training principles. All members must attend a free Spinning workshop before attending a Spinning class. Adult Swim Workshops – members, pick up a class ticket at the front desk up to 1 hour before class begins. All classes meet in the North/Leisure Pool; Lane 1 (Swimming for Beginner) and Lane 2 (Endurance Series).
