North Pool Update
We anticipate starting the refill process on Tuesday, June 16, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Once the pool is refilled, several additional days will be needed to balance the water chemistry and bring the water temperature back to a comfortable and safe level for use.
If all goes as planned, we expect the North Pool to reopen to members by the weekend.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and support throughout this process. We know the temporary closure has been an inconvenience, and we are grateful for the kindness many of you have shown our team while these repairs were completed. We look forward to welcoming you back to the North Pool very soon.

Parking Update at the Legacy Center
We were just notified by the City of Bloomington that road repair work on Four Seasons Road will begin today in front of the Legacy Center. During the project, the parking lot alongside the pool will be unavailable because the construction will block access to and from that portion of the lot.
If the main lot is full or inaccessible, members and guests may use our overflow parking lot located just north of Springfield Electric.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We will share updates as we receive more information from the City. While the temporary inconvenience is never fun, we are looking forward to having a freshly paved road when the project is complete!

North Pool Update
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to get North Pool back in service as quickly as possible.
Following the leak assessment by American Leak Detection, we consulted with several contractors to determine the best path forward. We now have a plan in place that includes both a temporary repair and a permanent solution.
Based on recommendations from Halogen, we will be sealing the expansion joint located along the grout line where the pool transitions into the deep end. We expect this temporary repair to be completed by early next week, at which time we will begin refilling the pool.
Our goal is for this repair to safely and effectively hold through the summer. A permanent repair will be scheduled in the fall to fully address the leak and restore the pool to normal operation.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

New Competitive Youth Basketball League Coming to Bloomington-Normal
FYBL, Foundation Youth Basketball League, to bring competitive youth basketball to local families starting Fall 2026
BLOOMINGTON, IL — May 26, 2026 — Foundation Basketball Academy, in partnership with Four Seasons Health Club, today announced the launch of the Foundation Youth Basketball League (FYBL), a new competitive Saturday morning basketball league for grades 3 through 6, debuting in Fall 2026.
The league, founded by Bloomington-Normal-based basketball professional and Illinois State University standout Jackie Carmichael, will feature two divisions, the Rising Stars Division (coed) and the Next Up Division (boys), and will be played exclusively at Four Seasons Legacy Center in Bloomington beginning Saturday, August 22, 2026.
"FYBL is the league I wish I had growing up," said Carmichael, who played professionally for 11 seasons across eight countries, including Spain, Israel, Turkey, France, and Bosnia, after a record-setting career at Illinois State, where he remains the all-time leader in blocked shots. "Bloomington-Normal kids deserve a league built on real coaching, real competition, and real development. We're bringing that home."
About the League
FYBL will field 12 teams across two divisions, with players competing in an eight-week regular season culminating in a playoff weekend on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Every player will receive a custom team jersey from a top athletic brand, IHSA patched referees will officiate every game, and Foundation Basketball Academy's coaching staff will lead skill development throughout the season.
Registration opens Monday, June 8, 2026, at playfybl.com, with a registration fee of $249 per player. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
A True Partnership
Four Seasons Legacy Center (904 Four Seasons Road, Bloomington) will serve as the official home of FYBL, with all games played on three courts each Saturday morning. The partnership builds on the existing relationship between Four Seasons Health Club and Foundation Basketball Academy, which has used the facility for skills training and academy programming.
"We're proud to be part of FYBL from day one," said Tony Maier, President and CEO of Four Seasons Health Club. "Jackie has built something special with Foundation Basketball Academy, and bringing a league of this caliber to our facility is exactly the kind of community partnership we believe in. The Legacy Center was created to be a place where families connect, young athletes grow, and the community comes together through sports and wellness. FYBL fits that vision perfectly. We can't wait to see these courts filled with energy, competition, and families every Saturday this fall."
Why FYBL, Why Now
FYBL launches into a moment when local families have asked for more competitive youth basketball options in Bloomington-Normal. The league is designed to bridge the gap between recreational basketball and travel-team AAU competition, providing real development and structured games for kids who want to grow as players without requiring the time and travel commitment of an AAU schedule.
"This isn't a rec league, and it isn't AAU," Carmichael said. "FYBL is the right next step for serious young players in Bloomington-Normal: competitive, fun, and built around development. Every game matters. Every kid matters."

North Pool Update
North Pool remains temporarily closed due to maintenance repairs. We understand this has been frustrating for many members, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we work through the issue.
At this time, we have identified the source of the leaks and are actively working with outside service providers to complete the necessary repairs. Resolving this issue remains a top priority for our team. While progress is being made, we do not yet have a confirmed reopening date. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.
To help support aquatics programming during this time, South Pool is being maintained at 88 degrees.
We apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your continued patience as we work to safely reopen North Pool.

North Pool Update
A few weeks ago, we began experiencing issues with the North Pool not maintaining the proper temperature. As part of our troubleshooting process, we shut down the pumps and identified a valve-related issue. More importantly, this led us to discover that the pool was losing water.
We brought in our pool professionals and partnered with American Leak Detection to help identify the source. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the exact location of the leak has not yet been found.
While the pool has been drained, we’ve taken full advantage of the downtime to complete a number of important improvements and maintenance items. This includes a deep cleaning of the pool, resealing the pool light, replacing overhead lighting, and addressing several additional mechanical and non-mechanical items to ensure everything is in top condition
We anticipate beginning to refill the pool late next week. Once the pool is full, we will have American Leak Detection return to make another attempt at locating the leak so that a permanent repair can be completed.
We understand the inconvenience this has caused and sincerely appreciate your patience. Please know we are doing everything we can to ensure the North Pool is restored properly and operating reliably moving forward.
