About the Decision
Why is Four Seasons selling the Legacy Center?
After extensive evaluation of our facilities, member usage patterns, and long-term sustainability, we determined that concentrating our future investments at Airport Road is the best path to strengthen Four Seasons for future generations.
The Legacy Center requires significant ongoing investments due to the age of the building and major infrastructure needs, while usage patterns have increasingly shifted toward Airport Road. This decision allows us to focus our resources where they can have the greatest impact on member experience.
Was this decision made suddenly?
No. This decision follows more than a year of evaluation and operational adjustments.
In August 2025, we transitioned FS1 into the Legacy Center model to reduce operating expenses while preserving member access and programming. While those changes improved efficiency, continued decreases in facility utilization and growing maintenance needs made additional action necessary.
Is Four Seasons Health Club closing?
No. Four Seasons Health Club is not closing. We remain fully committed to serving Bloomington-Normal and investing in the future of our organization. This transition allows us to strengthen our long-term sustainability and continue investing in member experience.
Is Four Seasons experiencing financial difficulties?
No. Like many organizations, we continuously evaluate how to best allocate resources to remain strong for the future. This decision is about long-term sustainability and ensuring we can continue investing in facilities, services, and member experiences for decades to come.
Why not continue operating both facilities?
Operating multiple facilities requires significant ongoing investment. Concentrating resources into Airport Road allows us to create the strongest possible experience for the greatest number of members while protecting the long-term future of Four Seasons.
