Swim Team Coaches

Marian Schulz

I grew up in a swimming family, competing since I was five years old. I swam through high school, starting on the boys team my freshman year, with the stipulation from the Athletic Director that if I could letter my first year he would start a girls team. I did just that, and to this day there is still a girls team at my high school! I continued swimming competitively through my senior year in college. I have a degree in Recreation Administration and worked at the YMCA in Joliet  for five years. This will be my 12th year coaching at Four Seasons Health Club.  I've now  been at Four Seasons for over 20 years, working in a few different departments, but mainly Aquatics.  My daughter Samantha also coaches for the swim team.

Rebecca Bishop

I have been involved in Stingrays for 17 years. Prior to that I have been working with the sport of swimming for 12 years. I started out teaching kids to swim and then I moved to coaching swim team.  I also teach at Unit 5.  I really enjoy working with kids at all levels and with all kinds of different backgrounds.  All three of my children have swum on the team since they were five and six years old.  I have been a coach on the team for seven years.  I love the Stingrays and all the fun we have on the team.  I work with the little kiddos and they are so much fun and have so much energy.  I can't wait to start this year and meet all my wonderful swimmers.  Go Stingrays!

Samantha Schulz

I grew up here in Bloomington Normal and started swimming for the Stingrays at a young age. I swam on the team for 12 years and transitioned into coaching soon after. I've been working at Four Seasons for six years, teaching swim lessons and coaching. This will be my fifth summer coaching for the Stingrays! I swam for Normal Community High School and currently swim U.S. Masters. I recently graduated from Illinois State studying Biology Education. I also coach at Lincoln Community High School. I'm currently IHSA and USA Swimming coach certified. My favorite part about coaching is seeing swimmers reach their goals and being a part of their journey!

Adam Jett

Hello! My name is Adam Jett. I am the coach of the 7-8 age group. This is my first year coaching for the Stingrays, but I swam on the team for six years! I also swam for the Normal West swim team for four years. This fall, I will be starting my second year at the University of Alabama, where I'm studying math. I look forward to seeing all our swimmers grow as athletes and friends! As a swimmer, I loved the culture of fun and hard work that we have on the Stingrays, and I hope to help enrich that culture as a coach!
