Legacy and Innovation: Four Seasons Health Club's New Chapter

Bloomington, IL, August 4, 2025 Four Seasons Health Club is proud to announce a bold new chapter in its more than 60-year legacy of fitness, wellness, and community engagement. The facility formerly known as Four Seasons One (FSI), located at 904 Four Seasons Road in Bloomington, will officially transition into the Four Seasons Legacy Center this fall.

As part of this transformation, the club will be closed the week of August 25, 2025, to allow for a full deep clean and a series of refreshing upgrades in preparation for its relaunch. The facility will reopen on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, as the Four Seasons Legacy Center; an updated, family-focused recreational facility that preserves the heart of what FSI has meant to our community while ushering in a new era of service and purpose.

“This is not an ending, it’s a new beginning,” said Tony Maier, President & CEO of Four Seasons Health Club. “The Legacy Center represents both a tribute to our past and an investment in the future. It reflects our ongoing commitment to wellness, inclusivity, and creating spaces where families and individuals can thrive.”

The Four Seasons Legacy Center will continue to offer a variety of beloved recreational amenities, including basketball, volleyball, aquatics, pickleball, badminton, racquetball, and more. Fitness services will be consolidated and expanded at Four Seasons Health Club on Airport Road, the organization's flagship fitness facility.

This transition reflects a broader strategic vision, one shaped by post-pandemic shifts in member usage and the economic realities of maintaining two full-service locations. By consolidating fitness services at the Airport Road location and reimagining the FSI facility as a community-focused recreation center, Four Seasons is positioning itself for long-term success.

“The Four Seasons Legacy Center allows us to preserve the essence of what FSI has meant to generations of members while giving us the flexibility to better meet today’s needs,” added Maier. “This move allows us to reinvest in our core offerings, improve operational efficiency, and continue delivering an unmatched member experience.”

More details will be shared in the weeks ahead regarding Legacy Center hours, expanded offerings, and other enhancements. In the meantime, Four Seasons remains committed to open communication and supporting every member through this exciting transition.

A Message from our President & CEO, Tony Maier

Dear Four Seasons Members,

We’re excited to share an important and inspiring update about the future of Four Seasons One and the next evolution of our commitment to wellness, family, and community.

Over the past several months, we’ve listened closely to your feedback. You’ve reminded us just how special Four Seasons One is, and how deeply you care about preserving its legacy. That passion has helped guide us to a decision we believe will create even more opportunities for connection, activity, and fun for generations to come.

Beginning August 25th, we will start a transition that reimagines Four Seasons One as something bold and new: the Four Seasons Legacy Center. As part of this transition, we will phase out fitness-based services at this location, including strength and cardio equipment, to focus the facility entirely on recreational offerings.

We’re not closing the book — we’re turning the page to something new and exciting.

The Legacy Center will be a familiar space built around basketball, volleyball, aquatics, pickleball, racquetball, badminton... and that’s just the beginning. You’ll soon see additions like table tennis, sport clinics, and family recreation activities designed to bring even more energy and excitement to the space.

To prepare for this transformation, the Legacy Center will be temporarily closed the week of August 25 for a deep clean and a series of refreshing upgrades. We will proudly reopen on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, ready to welcome you into this reimagined experience. As part of the shift, we will be moving to a new schedule aligned with traditional community recreation center hours:

  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 5:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday/Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday/Thursday: Closed

This shift allows us to honor the legacy of Four Seasons One while positioning the organization for a strong, sustainable future. It’s a future that reflects how our members are using the space, and one that will allow us to keep building an exceptional community-driven health and wellness experience.

At the same time, Four Seasons Health Club on Airport Road will continue to serve as our flagship fitness facility—offering an expansive lineup of strength and cardio equipment, group fitness classes, personal training, athletic performance programs, and recovery amenities. If you haven’t been by lately, we’d love for you to stop in and explore all that’s new. Our team would be happy to schedule a Discovery Session or tour—just email us at information@4seasons-club.com.

We’re also excited to share that Four Seasons is entering a new era as a premier, elevated health club rooted in community. With that comes a renewed commitment to excellence in both our spaces and our service. Over the coming months, you’ll notice enhancements in how we operate, from upgraded uniforms to a stronger presence at our front desks and elevated service standards across the board. Every team member, in every role, is part of this effort. We are all ambassadors of the Four Seasons experience.

We’re proud of our past, energized by our future, and honored to be on this journey with you. No other organization in Central Illinois offers what we do; and we’re just getting started.

Thank you for your continued trust, your belief in our mission, and your role in shaping what’s next. If you have any questions or ideas to share, my door is always open.

Live Well,

Tony Maier
President & CEO

A Message from our President & CEO, Tony Maier

Shared on July 22, 2025 at the McLean County Chamber of Commerce Executive Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating our club's 60th Anniversary.

What an incredible honor it is to stand before you today as we celebrate a truly remarkable milestone — 60 years of Four Seasons Health Club serving the Bloomington-Normal community.

Sixty years. That’s six decades of dedication to health, fitness, friendship, and community. And while buildings have changed, equipment has evolved, and the industry has grown — what has remained constant is the heartbeat of this club: our people and our members.

First, I want to thank the entire Four Seasons team — past and present — who have served our members with heart and commitment through the generations. From those who began their first job folding towels or staffing the front desk, to those who returned after long, successful careers to find new purpose in promoting wellness — you are the soul of Four Seasons. You’ve helped shape lives, build confidence, and create a welcoming space for all.

To our current management team and our board of directors: your loyalty, your leadership, and your belief in our mission have guided us through the smooth roads and the rough ones. Your resilience has helped us remain focused, member-driven, and future-ready — even when times were uncertain.

Four Seasons began with a vision — a vision that fitness and wellness should be accessible, community-focused, and member-centered. It’s a vision born right here in Bloomington-Normal, and for six decades, we’ve remained proudly rooted in that identity. We are more than a gym — we are a members’ club. And at the center of everything we do is the member experience. That’s what has made us different for 60 years, and it’s what will carry us into the next 60.

Speaking of the future — let me take a moment to share some thoughts about Four Seasons One. It holds a special place in our story. It's our legacy — and we are fully committed to ensuring it remains a vibrant, vital part of this community. We want it to be here for many more years to come, enriching lives and building community just as it always has.

So today, as we cut this ribbon, we’re not just marking the end of a chapter. We are kicking off another 60 years of impact, inclusion, and innovation in health and wellness. We are rededicating ourselves to being a place where people of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels come to be supported, to grow, and to thrive.

On behalf of the entire Four Seasons family — thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and being a part of this journey. Here's to our past, our present, and a strong, vibrant future together.

Let’s make the next 60 years even greater.

Live Well, and thank you.

Group Fitness Classes Have Moved to FSII!

We’re excited to share that as of June 1, all group fitness classes—except Water Aerobics—have officially moved from FSI to FSII!

This move was made to give our members access to the enhanced amenities, upgraded studio spaces, and state-of-the-art equipment at FSII—our flagship fitness location. We believe this change has created a more dynamic and energizing experience for everyone who participates in group fitness.

A few classes were removed from the schedule based on instructor availability and program demand, but this shift has also opened the door for exciting new opportunities in the future.

We’re thrilled to see so many of you enjoying classes in their new spaces and taking advantage of everything FSII has to offer. If you haven’t checked it out yet, we encourage you to come try a class and experience the difference!

If you have any questions, our team is happy to help—just stop by the front desk or email information@4seasons-club.com.

Thank you for being part of the Four Seasons community!

Looking Ahead: The Future of Four Seasons One (FSI)

Four Seasons Health Club is currently exploring the potential sale of our Four Seasons One (FSI) property. No sale has been finalized, and no operational changes are in effect at this time. This decision is being approached thoughtfully, with our long-standing commitment to wellness and community at the heart of every step.

As the fitness industry and our membership needs have evolved, maintaining two separate 60,000+ sq. ft. facilities has become increasingly challenging. To ensure a strong, sustainable future for the club, we believe it’s time to refocus our resources—enhancing the overall member experience rather than stretching it thin.

If a sale moves forward, our ideal scenario includes renting back space at FSI to continue providing services on-site during the transition. This would give us time to reinvest meaningfully in Four Seasons Two (FSII), where we’ve already made several improvements—including new cardio and strength equipment, a turf training zone, a Recovery Lounge, and expanded Small Group Training areas.

We deeply value the legacy and memories built at FSI. For many of our longtime members, it has been more than a fitness center—it’s been a second home. That’s why we are also exploring ways to incorporate key amenities like the track and pickleball courts into future phases of FSII development.

Any future decisions will be made with care, transparency, and our members’ best interests in mind. We are committed to keeping you informed and supported every step of the way.

Thank you for being part of the Four Seasons family—your trust and loyalty mean everything to us as we work toward an even stronger future together.
